Why Patterned Shades are Making a Comeback
Bold and beautiful patterned shades are making a comeback, and for good reason.
Patterns are back according to multiple interior design experts. It’s time to start incorporating some character into your décor to give your living room, dining room, or any room that wow factor. However, decorating with patterns can sometimes be difficult. Too little and you make little to no difference. Too much and you run the risk of looking tacky. So it’s important to play your best Goldilocks until you find that combination of patterns that is just right. This means experimenting with patterned rugs, patterned pillows, patterned furniture, and, of course, patterned shades.
Patterned Shades are Trending
Patterned blinds, or patterned shades have come and gone in terms of home décor stylings over the years. They are currently making a comeback due to new fabrics and patterns. In the 1950’s bold designs came into fashion on curtains, drapes, and shades. Many of these bold statements fell out of style as the times changed, but like the old saying goes, “What is old, comes new again.” The new patterns and fabrics are easy to style and come in a wide variety to choose from.
“After years of beige, it was revitalizing to see vibrant colors and patterns recapturing the imagination of designers,” said interior designer and style spotter Gary Inman.
Bold and beautiful patterned shades are making a comeback, and for good reason. A solid shade can be a bold accent and liven up a room, but a patterned shade can make a bold statement and give a room unparalleled character.
“You can’t go wrong with geometric patterns, trellis designs, large scale florals, bold colors, whimsical motifs, etc.,” Says interior designer and blogger Maragret Ryall.
